Click on the grade-level links on the top right hand corner of this page for resources that are specific to your child’s grade level.

Daily Routines

It is important to maintain a daily routine for learning. Here is a possible daily schedule:

8:45-9am Morning Workbook

9-10am Academic Time

10-11am Creative Time (drawing, legos, crafting, blocks, etc.)

11-11:30 Lunch

11:30-12:00 Household Chores

12:00-1:00 Quiet Time

1-2pm Academic Time

2-3pm Outside Time


In addition to the grade-level resources above, you can access reading books and academic workbooks at our Little Free Library outside our school from March 18th through April 27th.

You also have access to IXL and Razz Kids as online programs available to all Alki Students for FREE!

All families can get free lunch at one of 26 sites throughout our school district. Here are the two closest to us!

West Seattle Elementary School (Google map)

Enter and exit through main entrance on north side of building. After taking a right, the lunchroom will be on the left.

West Seattle High School (Google map)
3000 California Ave SW Seattle, WA 98116

Enter and exit through courtyard doors on west side of building facing California Avenue. Cafeteria will be across the hall on toward the left.

What should my child be learning? How do I know if they are on-track for their grade level?

The Common Core Standards are the learning targets for each grade level and they exist for all subject areas. Teachers use these standards to benchmark student progress, these standards are also used to develop curriculum that your child is taught at school. Here is a checklist that you can use with your child at home (cautionit is overwhelming because there are so many standards! If you give it a try, just do one subject area at a time):
